Tangible Memories: Heritage Stories
At the PCHC-MoM 2023 AGM, attendees were invited to bring an item that means heritage to them, either in-person or virtually. They would be given the chance to show the item and share the story behind it to other attendees as a way of bonding. The goal of this activity was to encourage compassion and education through storytelling, which resembles the "Heritage" in "Pacific Canada Heritage Centre".
We have since then expanded the program onto our social media platforms so more people can read and write about heritage. Read these heritage stories below, shared by our volunteers and directors.
Joann Anokwuru - Variety is the Spice of Life
Tāriq Malik - Metal Glasses and Tools
Andrea D cruz - Cinnamon, Coriander seeds, Star anise, Cloves, Cardamom, and Fennel
Pat Paruñgao - Tray of Togetherness
Lauren Benson - New Ukrainian Heritage
Harb Gill - Komagata Maru Stamp
