About Us: PCHC-MoM is grateful for the opportunity to operate on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples in Vancouver's vibrant Chinatown.  PCHC-MoM is dedicated to curating and sharing the migration histories of marginalized communities in Pacific Canada. We operate as a culturally inclusive charitable organization, and through exhibitions, workshops, and events, we aim to educate, empower, and create a sense of belonging while honouring Indigenous lands.

Mission: Our mission is to broaden Pacific Canada's migration narrative, highlighting the experiences of historically marginalized groups. We prioritize values of belonging, collaboration, education, empowerment, inclusivity, and responsibility in all our endeavours.

Board Member Responsibilities:

  • Provide organizational leadership, strategic planning, and financial oversight.

  • Offer guidance and support to the Executive/Governance Committee.

  • Advocate for and promote the organization's work.

  • Assist in fundraising efforts and attracting sponsorship.

  • Serve as an Executive Officer or chair a Board Committee.

  • Commit to a two-year term, renewable at the Annual General Meeting.

Meeting Time and Commitments:

  • Monthly Board meetings, virtually or in person, as needed.

  • Quarterly, monthly, or biweekly Committee meetings.

  • Engagement in at least one committee or project-based working team.

  • Reviewing background information for informed decision-making.

  • Participating in fundraising activities and organizational events.

  • Representing the organization at public functions and expanding outreach.
