The Things We Carry

The Things We Carry (November 24)We are pleased to announce our second set of "The Things We Carry’’ storytelling circles that will take place on the November 24th (1 pm – 5 pm). This event is free to those who sign up in advance and light refreshments will be provided. Thanks for the enthusiastic response from the community for our first set of  "The Things We Carry’’ storytelling circles, we have decided to host another set of circles to share more migration stories. We have lined up several storytellers from diverse backgrounds to ignite the sharing. All you have to do is to bring something that was so important to you/your family that was brought into Canada when you/your ancestor crossed the ocean to settle in Pacific Canada. Each storyteller will be given a few minutes. However, if you have a significant story, we may make you a lead storyteller and give you more time for your story. You can also just come and participate and respond to others' stories. If you are prepared to be a lead storyteller, contact Sadredin Mahmoudi to make the arrangements. Storytellers will state who they are, where they came from and explanations for the items they have brought with them. Our Storytellers:

Sadredin Mahmoudi - Born in Iraq to a Kurdish family, migrated to Sweden in 1997 with his family, arrived in Canada in September 2018 as an intern for PCHC - MoM Society First Circle (1:30-2:45 PM)
