Interested in Chinese Canadian and First Nations history? One of PCHC-MoM’s board members and UBC History Professor Henry Yu is leading a Gold Mountain River Tour in collaboration with researchers and members of the Lytton First Nation! This will be an extremely exciting and informative trip for anyone who would like to learn more about early BC history and Chinese Canadian and First Nations engagements along the Fraser River.
The trip features visits to Browning’s Flat and Van Winkle Flats. We will be travelling by motorized rafts operated by Fraser River Raft Expeditions. You can register for a 1 day or 2 day trip. Car pools will be coordinated for transportation

Date: Thursday, August 13
Meeting time and place: Lytton at the Information Centre on Fraser Street at 9:00am
Return in Lytton: Around 5:00pm
Meals: Lunch provided, guides can recommend places for dinner or hotels if you would like to stay overnight. Please inform guides of dietary requirements when booking.
Recommendations: Please bring sturdy footwear, waterproof footwear for raft, sun hat, sun protection/hat, water bottle. Possibly rain jacket, weather depending.
Cost: $150 for adults, $125 for children 8-16 (plus tax)

2 day tour
Date: Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 14
Meeting time and place: Boston Bar at 8:00am
Meals: On day one, lunch will be provided and dinner at camp. On day two, breakfast and lunch provided.
Return: Aim to be back at Boston Bar by 4:00pm.
Gear: Dry bags for camping gear provided, camping gear is available for rental (sleeping bags $10, sleeping mats $10, two person tent $25).
Recommended: Please bring sturdy footwear for hiking, waterproof footwear for raft.
Cost: $375 for adults, $350 for ages 8-16 (+ tax)
