explorAsian 2015 is coming up this May in Vancouver, BC! The Pacific Canada Heritage Centre – Museum of Migration Society will be co-hosting and participating in several fascinating events this May, and we hope that you will come out to see them.
Grand Opening of explorAsian Festival, May 2nd
May 2nd marks the beginning of explorAsian 2015! The PCHC-MoM Society will have a table there from 10:00am to 12:00 at SFU Woodward’s campus (149 W. Hastings, Vancouver). Please come by and say hello to support our dream! The event is free of charge and the Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society has done a great job of organizing the festival. Guided Tour of the exhibition “Rediscovering the Fading Memories”, May 8th
On May 8th from 3pm-5:00pm PCHC-MoM is helping to organize a guided tour of the exhibition “Rediscovering the Fading Memories: Early Chinese Christian Canadian History” at Carey Hall, UBC Campus, followed by a dialogue by a panel of researchers and descendants of individuals featured in the exhibition. “Rediscovering the Fading Memories” is co-presented by the Chinese Christian Mission Centre and the Pacific Canada Heritage Centre Museum of Migration Society, and is a month long exhibition from May 4th-29th. Admission is free so do come out!

Asian Canadian Asian Migration Studies Program Celebration Event and Fundraising Dinner and Gala, May 8th
The Asian Canadian Asian Migration Studies Program at UBC is one year old! Join ACAM and its first graduates for an open celebration on May 8th from 2:00-4:00pm at St. John’s Graduate College, UBC. There will also be a fundraising dinner and gala from 5:00-8:30pm, where the PCHC-MoM Society will be partnering to officially launch their new website in the 5:00-6:00pm reception.
